FAQ'S On filing ITR

TDS, or Tax Deducted at Source, refers to a system under the Income Tax Act where any company or individual making certain specified payments must deduct tax if the payment surpasses designated threshold limits.
Anyone required by the Income Tax Act to deduct or collect TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) or TCS (Tax Collected at Source) must file a TDS Return.
Under Section 234E, if the tax deductor fails to file the TDS return by the due date, they will incur a late filing fee of Rs. 200 per day until the TDS return is filed. However, the total late fee cannot exceed the amount of TDS deducted. Additionally, under Section 271H, if there is a delay or failure to file the TDS return, the assessing officer (A.O.) may impose a penalty on the deductor. This penalty ranges from a minimum of Rs. 10,000 to a maximum of Rs. 1,00,000
